Why Naot?20 May

Do you know what makes Naot footwear good for your feet?

Well here’s why it is…

Hallux Support

This enables a natural hold of the big toe, prevents the foot from slipping forward and improves the foot’s hold on the shoe. This is the “bump” that runs under your toes.

Elevated Footbed Center

The elevated center of the insole releases pressure in the joints of the central part of the foot. This lessens the pressure on the ball of the foot.

Arch Support

This enables the weight of the body to be correctly distributed and reduces pressure generated by the spinal column and joints. Arch Support distributes the pressure evenly on your foot, rather it being at your heels and balls of your feet.

Deep Heel Indentation

This helps the body’s balance and maintains the natural shape of the pad of the heel that protects the heel bone.

Latex Sponge Layer

This is a layer of padding that provides caressing and softness. It gives you a little bit of cushioning but you still get the support that your body needs.

Flexibility, Durability and Shock Absorption

This comfort footbed is made of a unique, high-quality blend of cork and latex granting it flexibility, shock absorbing qualities and long-term durability.

Stop in and try some of these good for you shoes!

NAOT!06 May

Naot in Israel…

Naot is an international success story. The Kibbutz Shoe Factory was founded in 1942 by members of Kibbutz Naot Mordechai. It was a one room workshop. None of the members imagined that in 50 years their shoes would be all over the world. They began by making simple work shoes and sandals and it has now become an international business. It is now Israel’s leading manufacturer and exporter of shoes. Naot now manufactures a large variety of footwear.

Naot in the U.S…

Yaleet Inc. is the U.S. Distributor of Naot Footwear. It was founded in 1989 by Steven and Susan Lax after they returned to New York from their adopted homeland, Israel. The couple met and married on a kibbutz in Israel. The company name, Yaleet, was inspired by two of their three daughters names combined (Ayelet and Yonit).

Steven and Susan Lax began their corporation from the trunk of their car that carried Naot shoes and leather coats from their condominium in Woodbury, NY to nearby flea markets and retail outlets. As the growing need for their shoes became apparent, Yaleet began its change into the distributor of the popular Israeli footwear.

Today, Yaleet Inc. is the sole distributor of NAOT footwear for the United States.  The Lax Family has since moved their operation from its humble auto trunk origins to doing business out of their family garage, to what is now their third warehouse which adjoins their busy corporate office in Melville, NY.

Hazardous Heels?!15 Apr

Do you know how bad wearing heels can be?

It changes…

  • Posture – Wearing high heels push the center of mass in the body forward. This takes the hips and spine out of alignment.
  • Pressure – As the height on a high heel goes up, so does the pressure on your forefoot/ball of foot.
  • The Knee – An alter posture caused excess force on the inside of the knee.
  • The Calf – The muscles in your calf contracts to adjust to the angle of the high heel. Over time, muscles may shorted and tighten.
  • Morton’s Neuroma – Heel height and a narrow toe box can create a thickening of tissue around a nerve between the toes.
  • Achilles Tendon – The Achilles tendon tightens up as the front of your foot moves down.
  • Bunions – Tight fitting shoes can cause a bony growth on the joint at the base of the big toe, which cause the big toe to angle toward the other toes.
  • Ankle Injuries – High heels can impair your balance, which gives you a greater risk of falling.
  • Hammertoes – A narrow toe box pushes the smaller toes into a bent position at the middle joint. Over time, the muscles become unable to straighten.

As you can see, high heels can cause a variety of different problems and pains.

Shoe Review: Wolverine, Apex, and Brooks11 Apr

Customer Name:Mike Burton

Shoe Brand and Style: Wolverine Wilderness Hiker, Apex Oxford Conform, Brooks Glycerin

Did you know what you wanted before coming in or did you decide after seeing the selection? I knew what Wolverine boots I wanted but the other two were shown to me.

What attracted you to this shoe? Was it the looks, comfort, fit, quality or price? All of the above. Everything was great.

How would you describe your overall shoe buying experience? Was the staff courteous, helpful & knowledgeable? This was by far my best of any shoe buying experience of my life. The staff (Kenna) was by far one of the best I’ve ever had to help me make sure my shoes were right for me. I wish I would have gone to The Fitted Foot years sooner.

I would tell anyone you won’t find a better shoe store anywhere, anytime, simply the BEST.

“WOW Komfort”?08 Apr

“WOW Komfort” is Klogs. The term came from Klogs customers. They found that when the customers tried on a Klogs product, they said “WOW”! Klogs shoes are built differently than that of their competition. Want to know the difference?

  • Klogs shoes are American sized. Klogs offer whole and half sizes in medium and wide widths. The competition’s products are based on European sizes.
  • Klogs shoes are constructed with outsole cushioning and durability. The outsoles are made of “MAXIUM” an industrial grade polyurethane. The material used is soft and flexible vs. the hard and stiff outsoles of competitors.
  • Klogs shoes are slip-resistant.  They were tested by “American Society for Testing and Materials”
  • Klogs shoes have an athletic construction. This is what helps make them soft and flexible.
  • Klogs shoes have a removable footbed. They have a microfiber top cover that helps keep the foot dry and cool inside the shoe. This makes it easy to put in custom orthotics.
